I adore the stories that Hafsah can tell so much. I don't feel this hit quite as well as We Hunt the Flame did and almost like the author was still trying to find her footing at the beginning of this book. BUT there were also many areas where it was obvious the author had grown as a writer which was amazing to see.
This main character was hard to relate to because she didn't want to open up which is necessary given the plot line and how it develops, but it left me craving Flick and Jinn's point of view over Arthie's.
I ADORE the way she wrote the heist playing out on screen at the end. But I resent the way she broke my heart in multiple different ways. I cannot wait to see where this is going next.
