The Harcourt's have just moved into Cold Hill House, and already they feel that their dream home is set to become a nightmare. The house is falling apart, with hefty bills and, soon, apparitions, the family learn that they are not the only ones living in the house.
This is a novel which I would only recommend reading during the day time, with a cushion, a blanket and unmanicured nails (you'll have bitten them all off by the end) It has been a good while since a book had me scared and frankly, for a book to do this, for me, is a sign its well written! I really enjoyed it and Peter James is a name I'll definitely be looking out for in the future!
