One of the most beautiful books I have read in a long while. Captured the horrors of war and the after effects so elegantly, the implicit homosexual themes during a WW1 time period added an element of romance, tension and also sadness that they could only be together in death. So emotional and complex, I really felt for Daniel in his battles with trauma and his desperation to do the right things.
