I didn’t enjoy this quite as much as the poppy war, which I wasn’t expecting since many people say this is their favorite in the series. I found the beginning to be slower and parts to drag and be frustrating. Some of the character relationships aren’t really developed on page and so can feel very sudden or forced. I am not as connected to the characters as a whole and moreso connect to Rin, which I felt more connected to the cast at large in the first book. Still a great book and I look forward to the finale.
