Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid

5.0

I absolutely loved everything about this book.

This was my first TJR book and definitely won't be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style and the way she really let's you know the characters. She had me captivated right from the beginning and kept my interest all the way through to the last page.

This book has two main storylines, the Riva family story and Nina's annual infamous Malibu house party that attracts all of the Hollywood elite.
The story is mostly told from the different perspectives of the Riva siblings, Nina, Jay, Hud and Kit. There were also a lot of flashback scenes about their parents, Mick and June.

I really loved the flashback scenes and connected with each of the Riva siblings, with Nina being my favourite.

I truly understand after reading this book how special of an author Taylor Jenkins Reid is. She draws you in and tells a story so vivid, you feel like you are in California in the 80s.

I give this one five stars. I couldn't put the book down and was captivated from start to finish.
