Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice

5.0

Just finished Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice. It’s been just the right kind of novel for my life in self-isolation: there is death all around, and the only reasonable thing seems to enjoy the moment.
I loved the book’s sensuality, its aestheticism and sometimes even decadence. It reminded me of Romantics and Mary Shelley with her Frankenstein - in its theme and style. It also reminded me of my favourite movie Only Lovers Left Alive by Jim Jarmusch, with its sensual atmosphere and existential gloom.
I wish there was a gorgeous edition of this book so that I could keep it in my book shrine forever.
