A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers

3.0

3.5/5

At first I was a bit disappointed since this book seemed too narrowly focused. But after just the first couple of chapters I changed my mind.

[a:Becky Chambers|8389735|Becky Chambers|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1494228249p2/8389735.jpg] tells an engaging tale where sci-fi is only the pretext. She (or should I say xe?) manages to challenge our cultural biases and also poses important questions. Who we are and what defines us as beings and personalities and what kind of societies we live in.

And this happens in such a casual way that the reader is caught completely unawares. At some points one feels the need to stop reading and start thinking.
