Beautiful book.
I don't particularly like historical fictions, but this book has altered my preferences.
O-lan's selfless dedication to her family was beautifully heart-breaking. And at the end, when she bemoans her lack of beauty, and Wang-lu finally comes to his senses. I think, all men need to read this book, and then think twice before cheating on their wives.
I think I've become passionate now. Okies.
