The illustrations are lovely and the books is more mellow for the most part. It went over really well during our National Library Week Storytime. I paired it with [b:This Book Just Ate My Dog!|20518873|This Book Just Ate My Dog!|Richard Byrne|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1390176480s/20518873.jpg|36424618] and [b:My Pet Book|18769849|My Pet Book|Bob Staake|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1384187669s/18769849.jpg|26672409] and the kids really seemed to enjoy each of these. I even had a parent come up afterwards who said she really loved this book and asked for a list of the books we read so she and her daughter can continue rereading them at home.
