This was really sad, but not in rip-your-heart-out kind of way. It was more of a relatable kind of sad. The loneliness, the fear you automatically feel from being queer, the pressure to be something you're not in order to succeed, the craving for affection. I get it, and it's an awful thing to feel. But even without the relatability, this was such a good book to read. I didn't know it was a memoir when I started reading it. I wasn't even 100% sure what it was about besides ice skating. But I'm glad I read it.
