Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

3.5

Lesson #1: Do not plagiarize, and especially from a dead chick.
This book felt more like rambles of an entitled white woman more than an actual story. I appreciate the dig at societal issues, and the writing was very honest. However, the whole thing just felt monotonous... there wasn't a climax. And it was disappointing because the premise had so much potential and the writing is already gripping. I wish Kuang did more.
