i love பெருமாள் முருகன் and i wanted to love this book. but it was so underwhelming.
you never have a chance to believe in the love story of Kaali and Ponna - there is none. you never have a chance to ponder over what implications the chariot night has for their marriage -

it is implied that he unalives himself

. there is something to be said for the book dealing with the emphasis that society places on fertility - and for that this is a great social commentary. but ugh.
