Oh sweet Solomon and Tessie... i loved them!
The trope of accidental pregnancy isn't usually something I reach for, so I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed this one! After a one-night stand between Tessie and Solomon, Tessie gets pregnant and she immediately knows that she will be keeping the baby. With no way to contact Solomon, and failed attempts at trying to find him, she continues on with the pregnancy, until one day by chance Solomon sees Tessie and her baby bump on TV and he instantly goes to her house to try to confront her and salvage the possibility of being in his child's life.
Tessie's best friend tells Solomon to switch places with her and surprise Tessie while she is on her babymoon! Once Tessie sees Solomon at her babymoon, she is instantly on guard and the story takes off!
Despite this being a one-night stand, I thought the build-up of the relationship was a bit slow. I really appreciated how well the characters were able to communicate once their walls were down. They had a very mature and straightforward relationship which made the story so much more enjoyable!
With no third act break up, this book was honestly a lot of fun. I hated (but understood) the doubt that some of the side characters gave the couple, and I'm glad when it did get worked out but it was so sad to see they weren't supportive. Overall, I loved our main characters and how their relationship grew. I couldn't help but root for them the whole time and want them to be happy!
