Whilst this could be read as your average light-hearted romance, with the obligatory misunderstanding/breakup in the middle, this is so much more than that.
I was a little surprised to find the trigger warning for so many issues at the start of the novel, but this could be a very emotional read for a lot of people, touching on child abandonment, neglect, fraud, mental health, arson and so much more.
There's still plenty of fun and whimsy and the characters were eminently likeable, if Justin was perhaps just a little too perfect...
Jimenez did not disappoint
