The Banned Bookshop of Maggie Banks by Shauna Robinson
3.75
The Banned Bookshop of Maggie Banks is a contemporary novel about a woman trying to find where she fits in while managing a bookshop in a town a bit too obsessed with a historical figure.
Concept wise, I loved it. Writing wise, it was also done well. I do wish there was more of an emphasis on the secret bookshop shenanigans, as that was my main point of reading it.
For the characters, I enjoyed them, but I wasn't particularly attached. If any of them were to die in a tragic accident, I probably wouldn't care. (Except for maybe Varon)
The romance felt almost too quick for me, but it was still fun to read. Not your typical male love interest, but still great. I also loved how the romance was a side story to the whole plot, and how both characters had their own lives and other parts of their life we didn't fully see.
Vibes in this book were very much there, but less present towards the end.
