The Bonds We Break by Scarlett Cole

4.0

This book is previewed in a bonus epilogue for the previous instalment. I was shocked at the set-up and the couple, immediately grabbing the ebook to devour. The series is overlapping in plot and well-woven to the point that I feel like I would have enjoyed this less if I had not read the previous books and met these two messy and delicious characters.
From the moment that King shows up in Michigan to kidnap Rae, he doesn't know what he's done. On the surface, I understood his thinking and even if it wasn't the best of character traits, it opened the door to one of the most fun books I've read in a while. Rae isn't going down without a fight and is 1000 times as smart as the whole club ... plus all the therapist evaluations and Shakespeare quotes framed her as not-your-typical ol' lady.
So excited to continue, even though the next book isn't someone I really want to read about, because the author is keeping me on my toes.
