I wasn’t as captivated as with the first book in this series. There were a number of distracting errors/typo’s and the so called French of Callanach was very weird, like Google Translate was used and nobody checked if the outcome was correct. In the very beginning we see a Dutch woman named Merel speak French… I’m not Dutch, I’m Belgian, but I think most people from the Netherlands will confirm that it’s highly unlikely for a Dutch girl to speak French. A Belgian girl, yes, maybe, but a Dutch girl…? Also, the Ava Turner subplot was quite unrealistic. But still a clever thriller.
