I like that this book gives the reader the backstory of what made Celaena the way she is by the time period of Throne of Glass. It enlightens the reader and everything makes more sense (not that it didn’t before, just fleshes things out now).
Some of the events of the story are so heartbreaking to imagine; makes the reader completely understand Celaena’s character growth in later years.
