Modern Crochet: Patterns and Designs for the Minimalist Maker by DeBrosse

5.0

Everything about this book screams minimalist aesthetic, the formatting, the fonts, the explanations, and not just the projects and images in it. I have to take a moment and appreciate the thought that went into it all.
While Modern Crochet it does cover some of the basics, I think it's more targeted at confident crocheters. This doesn't mean the project are difficult, or that the directions in it aren't good, they're in fact amazing and easy to follow. But the projects themselves require some stitches and maneuvers that I think novices will have a harder time completing. The projects are wonderful though, they look very cool, and there's a lot to choose from.
It's a really inspiring book too. It makes me want to pick up a hook and some yarn every time I open it.
