The Likeness by Tana French

This book kind of dragged. Way too much monologuing. It took toooooo long for Maddox to agree to the assignment, which she is obviously going to do because that's the whole story, and it got pretty repetitive in the beginning. I loved her interactions with the housemates once she finally got there. Unfortunately the ending left much to be desired for me. There were two major loose ends, or at least, there were two pretty major things that I expected to be resolved but they weren't even addressed. Somehow a book that I felt was too long left me wanting more, but not in a good way.

I like the characters and the writing generally enough to keep going with the series but this was disappointing, especially considering how much I liked In The Woods.
