The premise of this book is interesting, but the pacing is slow, and too much repetition. What I DID love was the Greek mythology aspect. I've been obsessed with Greek mythology ever since middle school, and it is still so, so interesting to me.
Alex is a strong, badass female and I love her confidence and sense of humor. I think she’s a great protagonist and I’m looking forward to seeing how she faces off against the challenges that come up in the rest of the series. Did I think she’s a bit full of herself? Yes. Would I also be if i was a badass half-blood who could kick ass and take names. No question about it.
The ending was dramatic and set the scene for the second book - which I’ve already got on hand to see how things develop from here.
