I really enjoyed this book about an English teacher, Phoebe Stone, from the Midwest, depressed about her divorce and her career who goes to a fancy hotel in Newport RI to end her life. When she arrives she runs into a bride who persuades her not to kill herself as it would ruin her wedding. The bride and her party are occupying the hotel for the entire week leading up to the wedding. Soon Phoebe finds herself entwined in the lives of those involved with the wedding, and then she finds herself as being part of the wedding party. The book is funny and lighthearted but it also includes a lot of heavy themes related to divorce, suicide,
families, and connections. I thoroughly enjoyed the book which was propulsive and also included excellent character development.
