Sunny by Jason Reynolds
4.0
Breaking pattern with the other books in the track series thus far, sunny is written in a series of diary entries. This works particularly well because Sonny is a quiet character who is learning both how to speak up for himself end to be himself. I listen to the audiobook as I have been listening to all the audio books in this series and I particularly enjoyed the readers performance. It is the same reader as ghost but he brings a different personality and character to this title. He let Sonny be the weirdo that is but never played it as a completely humorous book instead really getting down to the humanity of the character. There were moments where the narrator had this slight waiver in his voice that ended up being very heartbreaking especially in context. Another solid entry.
