The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa

5.0

Where do I even begin? This is probably the most wholesome, both heartwarming and heartbreaking thing I've read in a long time.

The writing style was very easy to follow, the descriptions were beautiful and the characters were amazing. Nana was amazing, and his relationship with Satoru filled me with so much joy. Seeing them both go on their journey was magical. At times it felt like I was there with them. And seeing everything through Nana's eyes was just the cherry on top of a very beautiful cake. Life as a cat is most definitely interesting! Now I kinda wish I was a cat, but I probably won't be a "real" cat haha

Did I cry my eyes out like a baby in the end? Yes, yes I did. The minute it hit me what was really going on, I was filled with so much dread of the inevitable, and it was very bitter-sweet to see how everything unfolded in the end. This book just really hit home.
