Sacrifice by Sharon Bolton

4.0

I like the tension in Sacrifice. There's tension about her boss, there's tension about her coworkers ... this sort of thing would be grueling to live through, but makes for a gripping story.

Around the middle of the book there is a big reveal about what is going on, which did kind of kill the spell for me. I must be more into figuring out what's going on than making sure justice gets served. The book carried on with the actual mechanics of how the thing was happening, which did maintain my interest. And more nail-biting inter-personal tension! I think maybe I was expecting it to be more of a mystery than a thriller, and in retrospect, given that it's a thriller, the pacing isn't so odd.

I found this to be a very inventive book, and I am now curious about what else the author has written!
