Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

5.0

new rating: this book holds a special place in my heart and I don’t know why. When I’m asked what my favourite book is, Rebecca comes to mind.

I feel attached to this book and it hurts me to give it such a low rating..

The concept of the book was interesting, however, execution lacked severely. The first 300 pages were slow and boring, and the last 130 pages were decent. The novel contained a lot of useless information and left much unsaid. My last complaint is that there is no epilogue even though it desperately needed one.

The book is not bad by any means, it just isn't as good as it could be.
