Setkání s Rámou by Arthur C. Clarke

5.0

Can I just say, big dumb objects are so easy to love.

Rendezvous with Rama is a play-by-play narration of the chaos, challenges, and awe one faces when exploring an almost incomprehensible alien environment and a potential first contact from a different intelligent life. Clarke was able to make every chapter so very exciting without the need for extra drama from the characters. This novel made me realize that not only do I love Clarke's ideas but I also also appreciate his writing style. While the book is quite heavy on physics and general space science, he made it fairly accessible through comparisons made with earth life examples and having the technical concepts not just there for the sake of being there instead made them a necessary part of the plot and the build-up leading up to more thrilling realizations, discoveries, and situations. Definitely a recommended read for everyone!
