This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor by Adam Kay
5.0
As someone who has never (and would never) be a doctor, the inner workings of the NHS was something I didn't even think about. This book really makes you see it all a little more clearly. Most of this book is comprised of funny stories and anecdotes, however, it also describes some of the struggles and the pain caused by the job. I listened to the audiobook when I couldn't sit down to read and that's done excellently too.
I would like to mention that I have quite a dark sense of humour and not easily disturbed by talk of gore and such so my experience of the book may differ from others. If it isnt your thing, dont read it. The book gets darker as it goes and there were a few scenes that even disturbed me. Every story is there for a reason though and I think he does an excellent job of telling his story.
