Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff
5.0
This flesh is your feast. This blood your wine. This life, this end, my gift to you. Hold him close.
5 bloody blades🗡️🗡️🗡️🗡️🗡️
Plot/story = 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'byss and blood! This book is everything. It pulled the rug from under my feet and then dropped one shock bomb after another as i tried to to gain momentum before finally hitting the ground begging, like some masochist, for more.
Excuse my language, gentlefriends but what the sh*it c***k tw*t f**king f**kitall!
Nevernight was great but Godsgrave is even better. It's action packed and contains unexpected twists in prodigious amount. It's a little hard to get into because of the intricacies and complexities of the world this book is based in and the language that is hard to discern at times. Jay has developed so many new words for the book, it's insane, seriously. But luckily it doesn't take long to get the hang of it. btw, when it comes to killing off great characters Jay Kristoff is worse than George R.R Martin. Danger lurks at every corner and you can't predict who is getting out of this alive and thats the best part. I am like really shook. This one is a must read.
It was obvious from the way Mia's predicament was building up throughout the book that something very unexpected was going to happen, but oh boy! the storm Mia's ominous decisions brought in the end. I was screaming and flipping pages like a maniac. It is so so good. I wish someone makes a movie out of it.
Some of my favorite quotes from the book.
"In every breath, hope abides"
death is the only promise we all keep.
This life we live ... There is room from love, Mia. But a love like autumn leaves. Beautiful one turn. A bonfire the next. Only ashes the remainder.
For people like us there are no promises forever.
problem with being a librarian is there's some lessons you just can't learn from books. And the problem with being an assassin is there's some mysteries you just can't solve by stabbing f**k out of them.
I know this much. Some answers are learned. But the important ones are earned.
There is no softer pillow than clear conscience.
The heavens grant us only one life, but through books, we live a thousand.
Memory is a traitor, and a liar, and a good-for-nothing thief.
