If You Tell by Gregg Olsen

sad medium-paced

2.0

I have a lot of issues with the way this author writes. It feels clunky and repetitive. There’s little rhyme or reason with what goes where and why. It wouldn’t phase me as much in an amateur write up but I expect more from a published author.

I’m also frustrated by how quickly things wrapped up. “And then the bad guy was caught the end” is not what I expect from a true crime book. There’s nothing to talk about the court process, the media at the time (and I lived in Washington - this story was fucking huge and everyone talked about it), or anything else. It spends long portions of time feeling more like a biography version of A Child Called It.
