This was an odd time to re-read this book. The lifestyle of the day feels so similar to the socially distanced existence we find ourselves in - focused on the family unit, without the ability to travel too far, and days spent in idle amusements (walking, drawing, reading). It made me think of how very busy we are in our normal lives and perhaps appreciate this pause (as much as I can... given the terrible cause and nature of it).
