I finished and my first thought was "Cardan, you ass, what the fuck???" (excuse my language), because the ending left me heartbroken.
Now, the only thing I want for "Queen of Nothing" is for him to apologize.
His character development, overall, did a 360° and honestly, I can't say that I was disappointed. I'm just mad. Mainly because looking back at it, I think it was something to be expected, but honestly, can we, at this point, be sure that Cardan has actual feelings for Jude? Why did he do that to her? I don't know, but I am excited to find out.
Overall, I've warmed up to Jude and I really adore Heather, but Taryn is still annoying and Locke ... he is the way he is. Unlikeable.
I enjoyed the political aspect of the book and I liked the fact that, even though Dain is not the saint I thought he was, the geas he admitted Jude still worked, which made for some incredible moments of comedic relief.
Again, the world-building and the descriptions of life in Elfhame drew me in to the point where I felt like I was actually living in the book.
Overall, I really cannot wait for what "Queen of Nothing" has in store for us!
