This is the 2nd book in the 5 book series. The author says we can read each book as a standalone however it would be advised to read then in order.

I started with The Queen of Monsters now I do feel I should of read the first book before this as some lf there terminology wasn't explained and I had to fill in the gaps as I was going as i was unsure what they mean as I ess reading. I also felt I didn't know the background of the King and Queen at frist . I have really enjoyed the dual pov although I will say I was more partial to Tannon side than Natalila this is a very different book and there has been a big focus on characters development throughout . I did love that Natalila was tiny but maybe that because am tiny myself I found I did enjoy her character more as the book went out and how she knows herself.
