I didn't enjoy this book as much as I hoped I would, I found myself really having to force myself to read this in the middle it really dragged for me, it felt obnoxiously slow and drawn out.
However I quite liked the premise, even if I did feel like Jean needed a little more gumption, and it surprised me that even until the end she was so unsure of herself, and of how Howard felt about her. The idea he did not love her back was preposterous and felt forced to me.
I found the virgin birth portion of the story interesting, however the reveal mystery around it seemed a little obvious for my tastes, and a little brushed over, I would have liked to learn Gretchen and Margaret's reactions to the news and I felt a little robbed, that Jean decided to keep it a secret.
Also that there are mental health issues involved, felt a little wrong to me that this information might be quite important for a mother and child to know.
