The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams

3.5

I think it is fair to mention that the way I read this book probably ruined some of it for me. I picked this one up thinking it was a cute but predictable romance book, which also means I picked it up to have something to read 5-10 pages of just before bed. However, this is not a romance book, and I should have waited until I was ready to commit to reading more than 10ish pages per day before starting it. It took me almost four months to finish this, because I never properly got into it until the second half, due to how I only ever read a tiny percentage at a time. All that being said, I think the story was really good! It is all about the power of libraries and books in our lives. The Reading List illustrates how much there is to learn from literature. The story gives us an unlikely friendship and teaches us about the importance of friendship and human connection, especially through grief and hardship. I recommend giving this a shot, just be ready to read more of it at once than I did lol!
