Elvis and Me: The True Story of the Love Between Priscilla Presley and the King of Rock N' Roll by Priscilla Presley

Oh Priscilla, honey…girl went through it. Listening to the audiobook you could tell that she thought it was a little weird and that she didn’t understand why Elvis would want her but she did end up caring very much for him. It’s very much conflicting emotions. Like why any man in his 20’s would want to date someone who just got out of the 8th grade is beyond me, you have to have issues. Becoming a freshman in high school is a shock to your system, you get there and you’re like everyone seems so much older than me. And I’ll admit, a small part of me does feel for Elvis because he obviously was going through things his whole life but that doesn’t excuse any of the things he put Priscilla through. He completely changed her over to fit the image he wanted for her when she was in the years of trying to figure herself out. And her parents didn’t do much to protect her from any of this. I’m glad she was finally able to stand up for herself and what she wanted at a point in her life and I admire the fact that she was able to remain friends with him and have a good relationship till his death.
