๐ฉโ๐ฌ"Lessons in Chemistry" by Bonnie Garmus was a delightful story, a great debut novel. ๐ I listened to the audiobook version and again, the narrator did an outstanding job narrating the story and performing all these characters. I fell in love with the book instantly, and enjoyed every single chapter. This book had me hold my breath, had me smile, had me infuriated and had me crying.
๐ฉโ๐ฌ Elizabeth Zott, the main character, is such a strong, intellectual and resilient woman, chemist and mother, and despite of all hardship life threw at her, trying to make it in the world of men, she never, ever, gave up. She was absolutely a role model, someone to which a majority of women started looking up to. To stay true to yourself and your beliefs, to do not underestimate your intellectual and capabilities, is something hard to do these days too, but especially back in the '60. I think the author did an amazing job at writing such an admirable woman.
๐ฉโ๐ฌ The entire book was fantastic in my opinion, every character, their background stories, their lies, their fears, their courage, their self discovery and everything else.
