The atmosphere of this book was impeccable. I don't find myself pulled towards pirate books (I watched the first Pirates of the Caribbean and didn't care enough to continue), but I enjoyed the setting of this one. I did find that it was a bit more drawn out than I'd like, but I understand that these taboo/dark romances need a bit more time to bring the relationship around and make it something the reader can support and believe in.
