I’m obsessed. I cannot wait for the next book in this series! Carter? Perfection. He must be protected at all costs. There is nothing I love more than a grumpy sad boy sweetheart. And Zeke? So sweet and charming and endearing! I absolutely loved their relationship, going from friends to lovers and navigating all of that. I appreciated the demi rep and thought it was so well done. And, the fact that these two end up with a sex life that is more real life and unique and less typical romance book is amazing. Also the intimate scenes are so sweet and fun and real. Oh and Carter’s family troubles are so humanizing and sad, but make for wonderful conflict. I love Zeke’s grandma and, really, all the side characters. I love seeing Carter make friends (will we be seeing Max again…). It was so fun to see Coach Mackenzie and Tony, too. Honestly, this book, like all of JJ’s books, was just so heartwarming, endearing, sweet, warm, and fuzzy. I could not put it down. 2/5 spice levels.
Notes: grumpy/sunshine, roommates, forced proximity, jock/nerd, parental trauma, financial differences, Demi rep, literally just so sweet, friends to lovers
*I received an arc from the author, but all thoughts are my own.
