Vicious is the story of two best friends who decide to research near death experiences and experiment with adrenaline to create superpowers. They got exactly what they asked for. Except they are the villains of the story.

This book is an interesting study in good versus evil, the existence and will of God, and the extreme acts people are willing to undergo for success and revenge. Told in alternating time frames, the reader slowly learns more about the characters histories and how they became who they are.

This book had great characterization and an excellent plot. I was hooked pretty much from the beginning. Which wouldn't be when a story starts out with a convict and a (possibly dead) little girl digging up a grave in the cemetery?

I can't wait to read the sequel, because the very last sentence in the book still catching me I won't discuss it for spoilers sakes.
