Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro
4.0
I did really enjoy this book, but I kind of wish it took it even further than it did. The emotion, the social commentary, and the existential ideas could have been fleshed out and gone much deeper within the plot of this story. I also felt sometimes like I was missing a piece of the world, like they would reference something about their social structure or society as if the reader already knows how it works. But without telling us more, it’s like a weird passing thought that causes confusion. Even with these criticisms, I did like the book and am glad I read it!
