Never Never by Tarryn Fisher, Colleen Hoover

5.0

Thoughts upon finishing this book: Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit, holy shit, WHAT. That was one of the worst cliff hangers in the history of cliff hangers and I need the second book right now aslkjdlas.

I find it incredible how amazing this book was. It is so different from anything I've ever read from Colleen Hoover (in a great way) and for this story only being 140 pages I got so attached to these characters in a way I didn't think was possible. This book kind of reminds me of "Everyday" by David Levithan, and of the movie The Vow, except they both forget instead of just the girl so it's a lot more interesting. I wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did though. I was so intrigued with the mystery in this book which I honestly wasn't expecting. I mean right from the beginning you are trying to figure out who these characters are and why they can't remember who they are and it's exciting. I also loved all the modern pop culture references because it made it feel as if this book literally takes place in our current world. Like he says "How do I know that Kanye West married a Kardashian? Or that Robin Williams is dead?" and they talk about how an iPhone has "read receipts" and all these modern day things that make me feel like this book takes place within the last few months which is really cool.

I really really adore Silas. He's so sweet to Charlie and it seems like he really did love her and I just adore how he cares about her without even really knowing her. I loved how the story never got boring, Silas and Charlie were constantly figuring out things about their lives that I didn't see coming and it was intense! I love that there was comedy intertwined throughout the intense scenes of this book because it made the characters even more relatable and real. I found myself rooting for Charlie and Silas to remember everything and if not that then to just be together because they were so cute and I loved them together.

The last couple of pages were so crazy and intense, and that final plot twist just blew me away. I was not expecting that at all and that alone made this book worth 5 stars. Like wow, I really need that 2nd book immediately! I love cliff hangers but I also hate them. Overall, I'm just so impressed with this book and it can easily be one of my favorite series ever if the next book is just as good.
