odd and gory. certainly an interesting little novel, but i did find myself appreciating the fact that it was on the shorter side, and even wanted it to be a bit shorter. the book is not moved by its plot, or even really by its characters for me, but by its imagery. every sentence is rich and heavy, and although this showcases some fantastic writing, it became difficult to trudge through page after page. some images made me think, and other images made me feel like perhaps they were just words and nothing more.
still, i did like this horrifically creative take on friendship. it’s definitely unique, and had some peculiar but memorable moments.
