I wish that I had read this book in high school. Even though now I felt the writing was a little immature for my tastes, so many aspects of what Laurel was feeling would have given me so much comfort then.

If I could go back in time, I'd give myself this line.

"But we aren't transparent. If we want someone to know us we have to tell them stuff."
