Ok, wow. This book was such a breath of fresh air. It gave me the vibe I used to get reading YA when I was younger, where the characters are finding themselves and figuring themselves out but nothing about it felt frivolous. It actually reminded me of Speak, which was a book I really liked growing up. I was smiling by the end of the book. Jakobson brings such a distinct voice to the page and I felt like I knew these people. The safety that was created by these characters was so heartwarming. Well done to the author.

Ugh. Instant 5 stars.
