Girl Made of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake

5.0

This is an important book that presents the trauma of sexual assault in mature, appropriate ways for young readers (and still very compelling for adult readers as well). It is both bleakly honest and hopeful, its characters (including a bisexual girl and a nonbinary character) and their relationships realistic and fully fleshed out. It's painful but also comforting, a must-read for teens, and I hope the messages here will reach those (of all ages) who need them most.
