The Reunion by Guillaume Musso
3.0
I found this at the library, hadn't read it when it first came out, and am always intrigued by drama surrounding reunions!
In this book, it's 25 years since Thomas left his school on the French Riviera. The school is hosting special events for his class - 25 years - but also due to demolishing the gym to build new buildings and gardens. Thomas, now a writer, is compelled to return because he knows what others do not, that there is a dead body walled up in the gym and he fears that at the end of the reunion weekend, when they start demolition, they will find the body and evidence that he was guilty of the death.
The book stays primarily in present day but also drafts back to his senior year when the events that led to the murder occurred. And of course there is a beautiful woman, Vinca, at the center of it.
I felt this book was engaging, compelling, interesting, but at times drifted. The links between a variety of the main characters were so coincidental as to sometimes be unbelieveable at times.
A decent mystery and well written story. I would read more by this author!
