This was an easy read, the memoir of an Irish man growing up with a single mother in a hostel in Dublin, then in London when his mother married a much older man.
At times very sad, there was a lot of humour too, but I found the ending rather jarring, as if the author had been told "wrap it up, you've got two pages".
Interesting to me as this is our recent history and therefore relatable, but no huge surprises or anything that will set the world on fire.
