I first discovered Julia Jarret in her series The Donnellys of Dogwood Cove, where we are introduced to Willow. Getting her own story in the first of the Vancouver Tridents series, Willow becomes friends with Sadiebecomes friend. While I have always loved baseball, who knew how sexy and caring their fictional counterparts could be?!

Mav and Sadie’s story has it all! Mav is dubbed the bad boy of baseball, while Sadie is a good girl who wants to leave her dirtbag ex in the past. Solving both their problems they begin to fake date which leads to so much more! Julia’s use of complex emotions is felt on every page. Right on the nose, Julia has hit a grand slam with her Vancouver Trident series.

A slow burn filled with spice that you won’t want to miss the ending which feels like a tied game with runners on base at the bottom of the ninth.
