who gave r.f. kuang the RIGHT to hurt us like that. once again i’m absolutely shell shocked and emotionally drained. this book was somehow 10 times more dark, heart wrenching, intriguing, and shocking as the first one. the fact that i have to wait until NOVEMBER is just...devastating. but also it might be a good idea because it’s the last book in the trilogy and i don’t want it to end.

once again: fang runin is a mess but i love her. like yeah, did she make a lot of messed up decisions? yup. is she way past morally grey? yup. but what can i say, i love her.

i was soft for kitay in TPW and i’m even softer for him in this one. i’m soft for the dynamic between rin and kitay. also, in this house we don’t talk about nehza and altan because both are too painful.

anyways, this book destroyed me.
